Next technology generation games console wars

Once again, the three major video game consoles are battleing it out for market shear of the world and as befor the players in this war are Sony,Microsoft and Nintendo.
This time, Sony isn’t first-to-market with their console that honor goes to Microsoft’s Xbox 360. The company’s second entry into the console wars was released a year ago, and has generated strong reviews and decent sales and Nintendo’s Wii, with its unique, motion-sensing controller, has generated good buzz. Sony? Manufacturing problems had caused delays and shortages for their PlayStation 3 launch.
So the million billion dollar question is, after the PlayStation 3 and Wii launches: Is the balance of power shifting in the game industry?

WIFI

The financial district will be blanketed by a giant wireless internet cloud by commercial WiFi enabler The Cloud.
The service, which will cost £11.99 per month, is targeted at consumers and local municipal staff. It relies on mesh wireless technology embedded in lampposts, street signs and other furniture.
Some 350,000 people work in the Square Mile. The network will initially stretch from the City to Soho and will be powered by around 150 interlinked base stations.
The Cloud said it would be largest single wireless internet network in Europe.
Last month, Global Reach turned a 22km stretch of the Thames into a giant WiFi walkway, allowing both private individuals and local public authorities to exchange data along the riverside. This technology in the future lokks to be the revalution in internet acces with no wires at all.

sky plus

The main huge advantage of Sky Plus is the ability to pause live tv, how many times have you had to rush to the loo at the most exciting part of a film, or missed a crucial twist in the plot because you were making a cup of tea!! Well you no longer have to worry about these things, as you can simply put tv on pause and then pick up where you left off when you get back. This also means that, if you've paused tv, you can then fast forward through the adverts until you catch up with yourself again, something I see as a huge advantage, as I have no desire to sit through adverts. Some say this in part negates a fundermental part of the television expirence, being that every thing is on at a set time and so you end up looking forward to sertain times or days.
Also the suspention of haveing to wait for the next eppisode of ur faverate series a week later at the same time has been defeated by the new Sky+. i Think that all in all this revelution in the way we wotch tv is a possitive thing as the age of personalisation kicks in were every thing is taylored just for you.

Nintendo Wii,the next revalution in console gaming?

Tradisionaly games consoles were mainly tied with the geeky teenager lost in his own imagenary world that mean he didnt have to step foot out side. Over the years this has been slightly changed by new technologys coming out, eg: girl players. However the Wii is set to change all this by introducing everyone to the wonderfull gaming world. The idea is that insted of the classic handheld controler making thumbs ake all over the world, the is 2 motion sensory devices wich opens up a new type of game play wich seems to be more appleling to the mass public, the young, old, welthy, poor, gay, strait, back or white. Wether this has been achived by Nintendo yet only time will tell, personally i think not but will keep updated in futerture findings.
